Shandong International Communication Center is now launching a short video series China on the march:  Innovation and Technological Advancements, in association with Mango TV, Zhejiang International Communication Center, Fujian International Communication Center and the International Communication Department of Inner Mongolia Radio and Television Station, to showcase nationwide efforts in advancing reforms and promoting high-quality economic and social development. Today we are back with the second story: A Better Life in Shibadong Village.

Among high mountains and lofty hills in Huayuan County, Xiangxi Tujiazu & Miaozu Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, there is a once unknown poor village - Shibadong Village.

在湖南省湘西州花垣县的崇山峻岭之中，有一个曾经默默无闻的贫困小村——十八洞村。

Today, the per capita income of Shibaodong Village villagers has jumped from more than 1,600 yuan to 25,456 yuan, and traditional cultural industries such as Miao Embroidery has been revived here, plus was recognized among the Best Tourism Villages in 2024 by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). With its amazing changes, this village vividly illustrates the power of Targeted Poverty Alleviation.

如今，十八洞村村民人均收入从1600多元跃升至25456元，苗绣等传统文化产业在这里复兴，荣获联合国“最佳旅游乡村”……这个村庄以其惊人的变化，生动诠释了“精准扶贫”的力量。
